Can anyone shed some light on why my almost 7 month old female yellow lab keeps peeing on my leather couch?? This is 3rd day in row. I just came back from 12 days away but she was home with my boyfriend can she just being doing this to say don't leave again??? I am really getting upset about any ideas??

No, she isn't saying don't leave again. :) Dogs don't try to manipulate people. More than likely the upset in routine from you being away and your boyfriend being in charge has thrown her off a bit. She is still young, it's not uncommon for changes in routine to cause changes in behaviour even in an older dog. Try not to be upset with her, but just go back to basics with housetraining and take her out frequently and praise and treat when she goes outside. She'll soon be reminded and all will be well. Another thing to consider is the possibility of an infection - UTIs can cause frequent urination so if you continue to see her urinating in the house it might be worth a trip to the vet to get her checked out. Also make sure you use some kind of enzyme cleaner to get rid of any trace of smell from the couch to discourage that becoming an attractive peeing spot to her. Check the label first before using it though, I'm not sure about using it on leather.
