We are off on hols soon, just for 4 days and Luna is staying with family. They have no dogs becasue they travel a lot, but have had dogs before, they love Luna and she loves them. What should I do, if anything, to prepare her this week? Obviosuly we have a particular toilet place and routine at home and this will be different there. I am thinking of taking her up and just walking her round their fields and outsides 2 or 3 times this week. I will send her food, a couple of frozen kongs and stuff to make more. Any tips?
When Bailey was 10 weeks old we had a long booked night away - I left him with my sister (who does have a dog) and I just took a big selection of his favourite toys, food, his bed, his blanket, his sleep monkey, pretty much everything I could think of. I also left one of my sweatshirts that smelt of me. As Bailey had his mate to play with we were not missed until bedtime when the sweatshirt came in useful! Unusually for Bailey he woke crying in the night apparently, but it was for comfort rather than a toilet call. My sister sat with him for 10 mins until he settled again and then he slept for the rest of the night. Be prepared for a big welcome back, followed by a massive sulk for at least an hour....I got the full turn my back on you mum treatment!
