The breeder where we're looking to get our puppy from says they use a brand called Eukanuba and recommend that we continue that. Does anyone else use this brand of dog food? Or what do you use?
I haven't tried Eukanuba but know someone who uses it for his three dogs and they look fine. I prefer a kibble with less 'things' in it and use Symply which I am happy with, I use the Lamb one. The local vet (not mine) stocks it as the only food as they were very impressed with it, tummy problems responded well.
We use the Eukanuba puppy kibble because it's what the breeder used, but once we've finished the bag I'm planning to switch to something less processed. Could be a while, though - we foolishly bought the massive bag, and she's on wet and homemade food too.
Our breeder used Eukanuba too. She's put a lot of show championships on her dogs so it can't be too bad food. Worked fine for our first Lab for 14.5 years. Yes, it is recommended you continue on the breeders food for a whole big bag, a couple of months, till past teething, the times vary in what I've read, but at least enough to allow puppy to settle into her new home with at least one thing not changed. I don't feed it now because of a health issue.
My lab came to me on Hills but he's always been a picky eater so have gone through Hills (which I didn't think suited him anyway) Skinners Duck and Rice, Orijen and now he's on Kronch grain free. He's looked well on Skinners, Orijen and Kronch but eventually turned his nose up at them all so I've stuck with Kronch which seems reasonable quality and value for money. Obi arrived on Alpha which I switched him off ASAP now he's on Kronch as well. Different dogs do well on different foods. Coat condition and what comes out the other end will tell you how your dog is doing on a food
Guide Dogs used to feed Eukanuba, but found lots of dogs got loose poos so now they exclusively use Royal Canin - which gives lots of choice.
