    Just for fun.

Which sports or activities should be in a Dog Olympics?

There are already dog sports such a sheep dog trials, field trials, agility and fly ball.

But then there's the sprint from being asleep on the sofa to the front door to collect the post.

What would you include? What would your dog get a medal for?

Charlie would win - paws down - the following events:

Fastest nicking of a football in the park, and longest avoidance of 22 fit teenagers. Ditto golf balls and golfers.

Most stylish, fastest, and longest victory laps in not bringing back a dummy.

Causing the most chaos in the shortest possible time on a 'dogs banned from Easter day' beach.

Fastest and most enthusiastic water entry - any water, whatsoever, for no reason other than to fling himself into water.

Ability to enjoy himself and have a ball in an empty room.

    And...most importantly...supreme cuddle champion.

    My dog is fabulous. :)

An endurance event - longest time digging a hole (2 surfaces available, lawn or flower bed). I think Molly should be in with a good chance of a medal, though I can imagine she might face some stiff opposition.

The fastest hoolies .........Harley is a fast runner normally, but is incredibly fast when she decides it's hoolie time :)

Quickest time to lick a whole face ;) (on Friday my administrator came over to Harley and bent down to say hi.....Harley was so excited that she knocked her down, pinned her on the floor and licked her face all over several times :D. My administrator couldn't stop laughing which encouraged Harley to continue :D)

How fast they take your space on the bed when you get up for a wee :D

Ah, yes. Charlie would be in with a shot at the medals for fastest cleaning of a human ear, that's for sure. He works very hard at that. :)

I think Stryker could very well win this one, he's up to three times now.

How fast after bringing them, They must go potty outside, to go potty in the house.

He went pee outside, came inside just barely entered the door, went pee and ran to my bedroom, got up on the bed and went pee again.

Homer would definitely be a medal contender for this one. He does the most spectacular belly flop dives when he enters the water.

Hard to beat Benson in the gymnastics section...best bed bouncer! :)

Casper would not win a medal in the 100m, but with the Black Bullet on his heels, the Bolt might go just a teeny bit faster! :)

Pongo is a contender for Freestyle Lead Pull. (Best when wearing his harness.)

Shadow would definitely win the sofa hurdling competition. Willow would be a strong contender for most pine cones in her mouth at any one time.

Harley would be pretty good in the swimming events too. Fastest retrieve of someone else's tennis ball is an event that plays to all her strengths ;)

Biggest splash in a muddy trench goes to Coco this morning. Loudest bark at either a real or invisible passer by - he's currently taking part in this event. - Disqualified for adding a whine.

Charlie says I should put his name down for loudest whining and general fussing when stopping the car at the river walk carpark....

A riverside carpark could have mine applying for the doubles in this event.
