Yes totally agree "rough housing"play with humans does tend to get dogs very excited, and they do get rough, biting, mouthing all intensifies. All good with other dogs, if you have ever seen 2 dogs play fighting boy it can get really frenzied! Dogs playing like this however give off very subtle signals when they want a break, even so young dogs can get a bit carried away. Humans are not dogs, our skin is a lot softer, so understandably we can get a bit sore from eager young jaws and claws. I would look at more training games, I reckon clicker training would a perfect way to stimulate your clever young dog. Mental training is also a great way to bond with your dog, and 10 mins training can really tire you dog out.
