Sorry everyone I feel like I am always asking questions in here. Doug who is a 6 month old Choccy lab has never had a poop outside our back garden, is this normal or should I be worried? We walk him regularly, but still comes home and gies in the garden. Has anyone else had this problem. Thank you x

This forum is for asking questions, so ask as many as you like :)

Some dogs don't want to poop in their own garden (mine is one of those..) but it's slightly more unusual to have a pup that will only poop in your garden. Nothing at all wrong with it at the puppy stage I'd say. Hopefully eventually he'll become confident to poo away from your house.

Mine will only poo out on a walk, would be much easier if they would do it in the garden, so treasure it while you can :)

Harley wouldn't wee on a walk u til she was 4.5 months old, and wouldn't poo until she was around 6 months. Now she will go anywhere as long as there is grass - when we went to the beach several months ago she held it and I could tell she needed to have a poo so found some grass in the sand dunes and she went straight away! They are funny creatures :)

Mine started to only poop in the corner of the entrance to our driveway in the woods. And she only pee in a specific spot in the yard, whenever we get home from a walk she rushes there to pee.. Millie is 6 months old now and I love her personality. Labs are so great!

Bailey will pee and poop anywhere - however my sisters dog (another lab) won't go anywhere apart from their garden. Bailey is six months old and Riley is nearly 9 months old.

No need to worry, they have fewer poos a day as they get older anyway :)

I wish Finn would use the garden! He refuses to do anything at all at home, so I have to take him out 3 or 4 times a day so he can pee and poo to be comfortable. I suppose if I didn't take him out he would have to use the garden, but that seems cruel? He is a 8 year old rescue so that's probably what he was taught a long time ago.
