I'm looking for some help or suggestions if possible..
I have 3 cats as well as my almost 2yr old Labrador, the eldest cat has started weeing in my labradors bed. This is happening on a 3/4 day basis. I've gone through 4 beds so far this year.
I've tried moving the bed, bought stuff to stop him returning to the same spot, I've a bought Feliway Friends plugin.
I have 3 litter trays placed throughout the home.
I'm at my wits end and I never see him doing it, he's acting normally otherwise, he's eating and drinking normally, I just don't understand why he's suddenly started this habit... Until Jan/Feb things had been fine.

If anyone has any suggestions or thoughts on what the problem could be I'm willing to listen.
I did wonder if he's doing it to get at Hachi? In a sort of protest haha, although why is it now that he's started it, rather than when I got Hachi (Dec'14)?

    Thanks for reading,
    Shelly x

Get another litter tray. And find out if something has changed in the cats life. Everything at home maybe the same but the maybe stressed by something else in the environment. My friends cat always wees in the wrong place when a cat bullies him . Are they enclosed litter trays ?if not try one with a roof. It makes them feel safer.

Could the cat have a uti ? I'd maybe get checked by vet . My cat displays no other symptoms of uti other than peeing in odd places .

They are all house cats so the issue has to be at home.
I have two open, and one closed litter trays, Milo isn't so keen on the closed one so we took the flap off and he was happier with that.

    Thanks for your suggestions xx

I'm starting to think a UTI, I've gone through everything else I can think of and suggested by my vet. He's 14 now so I guess if could be something along those lines.

    Thanks for your help xx

Its always so much more difficult with cats as they don't show any signs of pain or ill health and then 'bam' there is a big problem haha

Wow 14 is a great age ! My 8 yr old cat has uti fairly regular now , it was only by chance I caught her trying to pee somewhere and could see her straining . She never appears ill , doesn't go off her food or anything else unusual , just the peeing in odd places . She's on a urinary diet now ( she had crystals forming in bladder ) and Utis are less frequent . Good luck & let me know how your man gets on xx

The second our senior (15 years) cat weed on our bed I suspected a uti. Turns out she had...a kidney stone. THAT was expensive surgery. Until it was sorted she'd wee on our shoes/floor/wherever, poor girl was so uncomfortable. So yep, take him to the vet. Hopefully it's something straightforward like a uti in which case it'll clear up quickly. If it doesn't clear up then it gets expensive with ultrasounds/prescription kibble/potential surgery.

Maybe it's different where you live, but in NZ you leave the cat at the clinic for the day for them to take the sample. I can't imagine how you'd do it at home!

Thanks for the advice, I really hope that it's not kidney stones, Milo is a rescue and is not the best at taking medicine and to have surgery would probably be the end for him. But I won't stress out till I've had him at the vets.
I really appreciate everyone's input. I always worry that I'm being over protective and worry when it's nothing hence why I asked for everyone's thoughts, but you've confirmed what I thought.

    Thanks
    Shelly xx

Hi again , just back from disastrous training session with Sam ! Our vets the same (in Ireland) leave her in for the day , they sedate cat , get sample , bladder wash out to remove any crystals . Including 2 week antibiotic course this Costs approx €65 ( roughly 60 sterling ) . I feel your pain re giving cat meds lol . Mine is the same , I've had to get very creative ! Good luck xx

Definitely sounds UTI / kidney related. I've had quite a few cats and odd weeing places always indicated one of these - one of my cats weed in my daughters handbag when she was visiting .
