My daughter, living in New York, has just adopted a puppy - he is around 12-14 weeks, and some sort of mixture, possibly coonhound. Although he had a bad start to life (seized from an animal hoarder's home when he was six weeks old) he was clearly well-treated at the foster family he was with because he is apparently a happy and confident pup, weighing around 10 kilos right now. He goes to the office with my daughter, is learning to walk well on his harness and lead, is crate trained and almost toilet trained. While it will doubtless be a challenge having a dog in Brooklyn, I am sure they will do a great job, and I cant wait to meet him when I go for a visit in October! Welcome, little Alto!
Aw so cute. I'm so glad to hear that they adopted, the shelters are so full bcs of all kinds of reasons. I been in one and I wanted to take them all with me home.
I get constant messages about his antics... Apparently it is not just Labrador puppies that do the nipping!!
Congrats to all! He looks like a cutie...maybe your daughter needs to join the forum for some great puppy advice and support
Ahh he's cute! It must be a challenge to own a dog in a city like New York, I don't know how people manage.
I don't think it's easy not having a garden, but there are lots of dog parks and apparently lots of people have dogs - very well-behaved dogs, too! It will take commitment, but I am certain she and her boyfriend will be great dog owners. They are taking it VERY seriously.
Been having the occasional pee accident in the apartment, and attacks of wildness in the evenings... I get blow by blow accounts!
