What are the rules with these? Loki's just getting more interested in his and so far little tiny bits have come off when he's chewing. Just now a larger chunk came off, about 2cm square, so I took it out his mouth as I don't want him to choke on it. Is that he right thing to do or should he be able to manage it? Thanks
I think he'll manage to chew it up just fine. You'll find they won't last long now and become too expensive. I move on to the white rawhide chews, but opinion is divided on these. I like the ones with dental enzymes in them - or rather the dogs do, I haven't tasted them lol. ...
For us, the only things that last at all are rawhide chews and Nylabones. The compressed ones are gone in minutes. Rawhide rolls can last several hours.
He should be fine with larger chunks. I used to use smart bones rather than rawhide as it doesn't agree with Harley. I stopped using them a few months ago as she was getting a bit chubby. She is now having fish skin chews and absolutely loves them (Harley is 3 years old). They don't last too long, but she loves them
Hi I've given Bailey Rice bones since he was small - he still does his "happy dance" when he gets one and runs off to his corner to have a good old chew on it...then when the smallest bit is left he brings it back and lays on my feet to finish it off! Although the time spent in the corner chewing is shorter and shorter! He also loves rawhide chews and these do keep him occupied for a lot longer - he loves prancing about with these hanging out of his mouth!
