    Hi,

We are about to change Vanilla's eating habit from 3 to 2. Due to her sensitive tummy it will be a gradual process in increasing her breakfast/dinner with the same % and which will be taken from her lunch allowance. Plan is to do this over a week or two depending on outcomes...

My question is once done, did any off yours still expect a lunch meal. If so what did you do to distract in the early days until they got used just having 2 meals?

Also currently we feed breakfast at 6, lunch around 1 and dinner at 6 due to our working times. I was thinking of changing the times so that she would not be 12 hours between food. Or would you leave it given that she is now used to this routine?

    Thanks

We had to change Twiglet over gradually too - one gram at a time!

6am and 6pm is fine. Mine get fed at 7:30am and 7:30pm.

Mine get a Kong at lunch time - which Tatze gets when the pups have lunch, so I just carry on the lunchtime Kong for the pups too when they go to two meals (all Kong food out of their allowance - Tatze was weighed yesterday and still has a Kg o lose, she weighs 26Kg and the vet says she should, ideally, be 25Kg.)

    ...

I gradually increased Quinn's breakfast and dinner size over a week and pushed lunch back (she was fed 7:30, 12:30 and 6PM)...so the end of the week lunch was around 4PM (very small) and dinner again at 6. She never seemed to look for her lunch. She gets a kong in the morning and some treats around lunch time during her walk but transitioned very easily - she was 8 months at the time.

Thanks sounds like they don't normally miss their lunch eventually. King is a good idea at lunch time, that way she will still at least get something...
