My 11week old puppy Labrador plays hard with the 4yr old Labrador, sometimes biting round his cheek, neck area and goes too hard and puts his needle teeth into big Labrador, I try to focus on the toys ect, but can't watch them all the time, big Labrador puts up with him, even when he drew blood, big Labrador is a softie, any help what to do please,

oooh...you really need to give your older dog a break. I had a puppy with a 7 year old and 2 year lab. Given the chance she would play non-stop with the younger lab.
I crated her from day one, which really helped :)

I have a place for Tatze (three years old) where the pups are not allowed come what may. When they get too much she leaps for her chair.

If I can't supervise they go into the puppy pen for a while.

No, tell me they get on like soul mates. The best thing ever. Two is better than one, and 4 years is the perfect age gap.

Then a can persuade hubby a new puppy would be perfect!

Well, I had an 8 year old female when I got my puppy and they were absolutely soul mates. Her name pretty much instantly went from just Jodhi to "Mama Jodhi" and stayed that way for the next 8 years. He used her for a couch, they wrestled for hours and generally were best buds.

Here's my favorite photo of them getting up to no good together:

Ha, that is an adorable pic!

My older male is 7yo and after a grumpy/standoffish first couple of weeks, he is now acting like a puppy himself, and they are wearing each other out, which was my greatest hope. They play so well together! For hours and hours. I do give older a break as needed; usually, he'll go lie out on the porch while she stays inside. I have a VERY small house.

They're soul mates, but they weren't on day one.

He does like to play keep-away and take her bully sticks before she's eaten all of them. But he also shares sometimes.

Even better, he was really neurotic before. (He's half standard poodle.) He is still over-reactive to UPS, the mailman, etc, but he has calmed a lot otherwise, a lot less anxious. That was a really nice and unexpected bonus.

@Emily_BabbelHund sadly, Dropbox doesn't seem to allow embedding of photos in forums :(
But, what a cute picture! Look at teeny tiny Brogan!!!

Thanks! He was quite the tiny bundle of cuteness (as our pups generally are!). :D

I've just requested the "Forum Supporter" upgrade, so I'll try later to repost with the photo instead of just the link.

Here we go, Brogan and Mama Jodhi in their full best buds glory (now that I've sorted out how to post a photo instead of just a link) Screenshot 2016-09-16 20.47.04.png :

That first photo is just the best a) because of Brogan's classic "guilty dog" face, and b) because of Mama Jodhi's grin! How great that they developed such a close bond.

Yes, that is 100% my favourite photo of them ever, though I must have thousands. I love that Brogan looks SO innocent yet has the tiniest bit of paper sticking out of his mouth. The backstory is that I actually fell asleep on the couch reading a book while they were playing. Normally I would put him in his puppy pen if I couldn't supervise, but it was an unexpected nap. I wake up, the book is gone from my lap and this is precisely the vision that greeted me. Jodhi looking like "Wow, this is the best buddy you could have ever brought me!" and Brogan looking like "What? Huh? Me?" (which to be fair was kind of how he looked on a regular basis until his brain grew in at about 3 years old).

By the way, Jodhi is 8 years old in the top pic and 15 in the bottom. I wish I could age that well!

Jodhi came to me after I'd just placed 2 very rambunctious foster puppies and needed a break but my volunteer supervisor at the shelter begged me to take a pit bull who was next on the euthanasia list but was so sweet. Her person had died and Jodhi had ended up at the shelter as no one else in the family could take her. The rule at the time was 3 pit bulls only at any time in the shelter. If a new one came in, the one who had been there the longest got the big blue needle, regardless of age, health or temperament. How could I say no to that? I was meant to take her as an interim measure and she was meant to go to a new foster in a week. Forget that: she was so well-mannered, sweet and loving that by the end of the week I knew she was going precisely no where. She was with me for the rest of her very long (16 years) and happy life and I was very grateful she for the little twist of fate that brought her to me. :)

As some of you know i got a 12 week old pup and a 3.5 year old male lab. They get along really well and Odin loves the little one but we made shure they both have a save spot that belongs to one of them alone. The little one isn't allowed on the sofa so if odin needs a break he just goes there and Odin is not allowed to enter Brösels crate so if he wants to be alone with a toy or so he brings it to his crate.

When Fred has had enough of Annie, he goes into the shack with my OH. All boys together, leaving me with our little darling
