Hopefully then it is just idiopathic epilepsy and nothing sinister - treatable with drugs. When Snowie had his first seizures we were hoping to find a cause. Then we could remove the cause and no more seizures. Really didn't want to give him meds and accept he was epileptic.

He's been on meds now for a year and he's fine. Not scary like I thought. Hopefully at some point he can come off them.

I hope things work out well for you and Poppy.

Oh thank you, those are very positive words! It's so scary, not knowing what is going to happen :( but it really helps to talk to people who are going through it themselves.

So sorry, Karen. That must have been extremely worrying. So glad you had some meds on hand. So hope Poppy is ok.

I know! I felt the same way with Snowie. It felt like the end of the world. Any time you want to chat, please do - on the forum or private message. Am happy to share our experience. One thing though - I've come to realize each dog is unique so you need to be alert to your dog's symptoms and sensitivities. But always useful and comforting to hear what others have been through!
