Hi everybody! This is my first post on this forum. So our little Kai'a is almost 9 weeks old. She's been a part of our family for 2 weeks now and is adjusting well. I, on the other hand, forgot what it's like having a new puppy to care for. The training is going well, both crate and learning to sit and accept treats. I'm sure the "shake" on command will come soon, but I don't want to overwhelm her. Just a note to say hello and I look forward to reading and sharing more with y'all soon!
Welcome to the forum. Yep, a puppy is a massive adjustment for the humans - those early months are pretty bleak, but this forum will get you through
Welcome to you both from me and Bailey in Adelaide, Australia. This forum will be your lifeline! We have an almost eight month old Lab and though he is our second one it was still a huge learning curve. Oh so worth it though
Hi there, Welcome to the Forum ,glad to read Kai'a is settling in well,I love her name ,how did you choose it? We have Dexter, our first dog ,he's 4 now but I'm still learning every day! Angela x
Thank you! I'm looking forward to learning a lot more about this whole puppy thing. On June 6, 2016, we had to put our black lab to sleep. He would have been 14 years old in September. It was devastating to our family. But here we are and are excited about starting over, although I am relearning how trying these first few weeks can be! Angela (Dexter's Mom), thank you - Kai's (Ky-a) name was taken from both of her parents names. They are Hawaiian. We'd planned on naming her Piper and then found out what her parents were named, so I talked with my husband and son and we decided Kai'a was different.
Ah I'm sure you've missed your black Lab very much ,what a wonderful long life he had with you though x Kai'a is a lovely name and very unique x
