You`re so right, dont care about the carpet , can clean it if needs be , her wellbeing in mind and body is far far more important x
Been reading that even castrated males can be interested , Sam isnt ::) ::)

You could put a sheet down on the floor to cover the new carpet...

She seems to be cleaning herself Karen , I did give her a little wash with cotton wool and warm water before we went for a walk this morning , got to keep the girl feeling good about herself :)
But its a good idea, the sheet, if it gets worse , thank you x

Maybe you can answer this Karen ? When we were away at my daughters last Sunday/Monday , their 5 month old male puppy was attempting to mate , I just thought it was puppy humping but my daughter said she had never seen him so determined or persistant . Thank goodness he couldnt manage it at all, just wondering now if she was at the start of her season then , I hadnt seen any blood but as she is so good at cleaning herself , I might not have seen it at all ? if so, then she is about one week in and not three days , the other thing was that I would have expected her to snap at the puppy for his efforts, but she didnt , just a growl but with a waggy tail ::)

Oh, I'm sure he could tell she was coming into season Kate. That's why you have to be so careful counting the days, it's really not an exact science!

Some gundog class friends have two duck tolling retrievers who are brothers. Apparently they go beserk weeks before a bitch officially comes into season...

Lots of male dogs have been sniffing around Pops too; I wonder if she may be getting ready to come into season again.

My problem Karen, is that we hadnt got a clue when, or even if, a season would happen ::)

No, I appreciate that Kate. Ah well, you know now - and the three weeks will pass quickly. Is she moody at all? Pops was like a teenage girl - clingy, then sulky, then clingy again... ::)

No mood swing, yet :) She is clingy, but then she is anyway so nothings new , just cant wait to get her spayed now , she is about 6 years old so its important .
I took them to the woods really early, no one else around so we got away with a little scamper off lead but as we left and I got her back on lead , someone parked up and got a lurcher out of the car , well all I can say is thenk goodness she is pickupable size ;D
