I know most people go bring there puppy home at 8 weeks would puppy still learn things if he can't come home till 9.5 weeks or is it important to bring home at 8 Cheers
I got my last puppy, a Lab, at ten weeks and he was fine. He was a lot less bitey than Molly, who I got at 7 weeks, but of course that might just have been coincidence.
We got Holly at 9 weeks. It was going to be 8 weeks but the breeder thought they needed an extra week with the dam because they were late at being weaned. We had no problems at all.
We got Stanley at 9 weeks. My friend got a puppy the same time as us who was 8 weeks. There's no notable difference between them - I don't think it would matter too much
Of course a puppy - or dog! - can learn at any age! It's important they don't leave their mums before 8 weeks, that's all. We had one of our puppies at 8 weeks and the other at 14 weeks.
We got Molly at 11 weeks and I don't think she'd be any less the hooligan she is if we'd got her at 8 weeks

Saba came home at ten weeks as we had a building project underway. By the time we got him, he was house-trained, sitting and laying down on command! We're SO grateful to his breeder!
we got Coco at 16 MONTHS. Some things are very difficult to train - others are easy. You should have no difficulty at nine and a half weeks.
Lilly came home at almost 11 weeks as we had been on annual holidays. House training was easy, and she wasn't really that bitey. Main thing was vaccinations - she had her first but a different vaccine to our own vet and needed to restart her primary course, so later out and about than average I think - and we didn't know about taking her out and about off the ground for socialisation. She turned out pretty good
We brought Hattie home at 13 weeks, no problems at all, no puppy biting, house training OK. Like Jac we didn't know anything about the whole socilisation window as she is our first dog. Hattie came to the School with me twice a day and to Scounts, the Vet but that was it. She is a very sociable girl meets and greets all dogs, children, old people, everyone beautifully. She is a PAT dog and is a great girl Makes me wonder about the socialisation 'window'. Good luck with your puppy
