    Hi everyone,

I haven't been on here a while as Hugo as been a good little puppy. However, he is now 6 months old and putting him in his crate while I am in the house is proving to be problematic with loud continuous barking. He is fine when its bed time and if we are going out of the house but if I need to do something around the house he won't settle. We are currently having our house renovated and will be going back mid January so I would like to get this sorted before we move back as I don't want to upset the neighbours.

I am just not sure what to do....any help and advice is greatly welcomed!

I think you'll have to redo the crate training for the different circumstances - e.g. apart from bedtime etc. Dogs really can take their cues from the circumstances, so if he has learned that continuous barking when you are in the house gets him something (or for whatever reason it has become a habit) then you'll have to go back to step one of crate training when you are in the house.

I'd also check that he really is ok when you leave the house. Set up a video or something so you can double check.

Do you leave the radio on and give him a tasty Kong? It might help to keep him busy and settle him down.
