Barley was such a good boy today, he was an absolute star.

We went to the deanery Fete and dog show today as we had been invited by our dog training club to participate in there demo, he was sooooooooo good during the demo, we did have some practice last night at training but most of the exercises he has never done before except last night, and he had to do them today, most of lead and in a ring surrounded by strangers and a BBQ near by, there were soo many temptations that could have distracted him, but he stayed focused and behaved extremely well. For the demo we had to do advanced heelwork, stays, come to front, come to heel, distance control, normal heelwork, tricks, cone weaving, agility tunnel, agility jumps, agility weaves and be lead around the arena by a child with me next to him holding on to his other lead as he had 2 leads on. All of this in an arena surrounded by other dogs and people, and quite a lot of the exercises off lead, and bearing in mind he is never let off lead unless he is in a safe and secure area where ha can not run off, but here he could have run off and never be seen again but he didn't run off he was as good as gold.

To top the day off aswell, we entered him in the dog show in the best rescue class, which he won, so he was put through to best in show where he got reserve best in show, so it was a really good day, and he was amazingly good for his first ever dog training demo. We have now been asked to apart of there demo and come to the events that there are holding demo's at because he was so good and me being a junior handler, as they want more juniors to join the club, so i set a good example and i am the first junior to join the demo team, which is an added bonus.

So i am very very very proud of my boy and how well he was today, i was more nervous than him, but i turned out that there was no reason to be nervous in the first place :)
