Hi all Rolo is loosing his puppy teeth ive been checking every few days ! I found one which is a good memory! He has lost a fairly big baby tooth one of his main ones he uses for chewing and when he plays with his toys hes letting out little yelps is this normal teething behaviour should i restrict any very hard toys/chews for the time being? Or leave him be ive been giving him a cold carrot hopefully thats soothing Thanks

It's very sweet to find their teeth isn't it!
Lucky you to find a tooth. Out of the puppies and kittens all I ever found was two wee kitten teeth. I have those white rope bones that I soak and freeze and rotate. Amazing to see them turn red. Really red. You could use washcloths. I didn't limit toys but mine were not much into chewing.
You found a tooth? That's a rarity! Out of all the kittens and Rigby, I've found a grand total of ZERO teeth. Rigby lost most of his milk teeth chewing on his favorite toy of all... his 'brother', Teller. I would say the yelps are fairly normal as his little gums are surely sore. Rigs got cranky as anything (just like a real baby) but I gave him a frozen Kong and he seemed to really like that. I wouldn't necessarily restrict anything. Obviously I wouldn't allow him hard bones because they can crack even adult teeth. Kong makes a puppy teething toy that's inexpensive. I also wouldn't give him washcloths because they can pull the fibers out (my friend's pup did this). We tried to avoid anything fabric with Rigby because often puppies will get a foul, fishy odor in their mouths during teething and we were unable to get the stench out of one of his soft toys. Frozen carrots sound like the ticket if he likes them. I hope little Rolo feels better soon!
While Sparky was trying to nip at me the other night, I heard a loud crunch followed by several more crunches and a big gulp. I missed out in grabbing one of his molars coming out. And yes, we didn't realize until late that the foul fishy odor is a tooth coming out.
Corona has lost 11 incisors now, 2 of which I pulled! At separate times of course. They were just hanging there, with the adult tooth already poking thru. I knew something was weird when she didn't want her frozen filled kong. Took a look, and there they were. Simple to pull too and then she went right back to chewing. So cute!
