I have my phone with me all the time, I prefer to text rather than call someone ....it's quicker! we never use the house phone,if it rings we both look at each other as if a UFO has landed in the garden!
Everyone that walks in remote places ...you should have one with you ,hopefully you will never need it but in an emergency it could be lifesaving xxxx

    Definitely agree
And have someone you could text in an emergency.
If there is not enough signal for a call, there may be enough to squeeze a text out

I never take mine with me - could have done with it the other week, I tripped and smacked my knee on a stone - I was truly convinced I'd broken my leg - couldn't stand or walk, just about managed to crawl the last 50 yards, in the middle of nowhere, back to the car - cursing I'd left my phone at home. Somehow managed to drive home with little gear changing in tears of pain. Got home & decided I needed to epilate before submitting myself to xray, but by the time I'd done that I was weight-bearing again. Crisis over. This time. My friend then told me of her friend, who slipped and suffered a compound fracture to the lower leg - luckily she was on a much-used path - again, with no phone. She was told if she's been much longer she's have lost her leg! I still forget to take mine

Gosh Sue that sounds very painful. Please don't forget your phone, I bet you don't forget your whistle or clicker? ;) x

Success :) Over the last 6 months or so I have been treating this dog, with the owners approval every time we meet him. I also noticed that he would stop and stare at Hattie so I interrupt this by saying in a high pitched voice "Hello "B" hi lovely" and give him a fuss and treat, this has made a massive difference and on the last 6 meets he hasn't gone for Hattie at all, in fact Hattie is warming to him and they walk along nicely together sometimes having a little run :). I have also noticed that his owner is a little softer with him too. :)
