Is anyone else having Christmas guilt over having to leave the pup more than usual for the dreaded Christmas shopping!? I left it so late this year, poor Quinn is taking the brunt by having some solo evenings by the tree this week We've promised her that she has 10 days of pure joy coming up, walks in the woods and play dates with her best friends, zero time home alone but she's not happy with us!
Ha ha, Coco has just "helped" me put the Christmas meat in the garage (no room in the fridge), he inspected every package. A while later he was barking and whining at the back door as if he was desperate to go go out to toilet, so I opened the door - he bounded down the path to the garage door & tried to push it open, then stood there looking between the door & me with those pleading eyes...he knows.
Luna is being fed four times a day, with her supper at 10pm. This is her "witching hour", when she turns into a devil dog. It's absolutely hysterical, though, as she struggles against her tiredness, nodding off as she plays and then waking with a start and carrying on. Throwing herself down on the floor with a humpf, then getting up again and finding a different patch to flop down on. W&S just look on with disdain.
Had to leave Simba at the kennel today as our families are definitely not dog-friendly. I do feel bad about it but he got in his room and zoomed out the doggie door to the bigger outdoor run to see which of his friends were there without a backwards look. He loves the kennel...he'll have lots of fun there so it's a bit of a holiday for him.
Just getting ready for the Christmas eve present delivery and visiting. We're all looking swanky nice collars clean not so hairy clothes. The doggies will be bored but I know they will be so good. I've got to stay way from people due to my immunity problems so it will be a slightly less traumatic than normal. I can't visit my mum because she's got/had flu so its just a drop off for her and no parties this year. Nice quiet Christmas for us this year.
If Betsy doesn't stop moulting soon, I think I'm going to clicker train her to stand still while I hoover her. Cut out the middle step of her spreading her hair ALL OVER THE HOUSE before I hoover it up.
It's after 10pm on Christmas Eve and still 25 degrees. We're expecting a disgusting 38 degrees tomorrow for Christmas day... Yuk
Eeek! Hmmm....not sure I'd like that. Mind, it's about time we in the UK started our annual moan about the mud....
No problem training here. When Pongo sees the hoover coming out, he demands to have his belly hoovered. See if this link works.... https://www.dropbox.com/s/fko59xc4yee59wr/pongo and the hoover.mp4?dl=0
All going well all the pressies delivered. Had the most wonderful walk in all my childhood woods with my friend and her dog. Dogs had a great time exploring my childhood playground muddy ditches fields and trees. I felt like I was finally home
