Hello and welcome to the forum.
This is one of those questions where, if you ask ten people, you'll get ten answers, so we don't tend to answer it very well!

Your puppy should come home with a bag of the food she has been weaned onto, assuming it's a puppy you're getting. In any event, you should keep her on the same food she's been eating for a couple of weeks, to minimise tummy problems, as it's already a traumatic time for them. If you then decide you want to change, make sure you understand why.

Most of the "better" kibbles are much of a muchness. General advice is to avoid the brands you can buy in the supermarket - Pedigree, Bakers etc - and just find one that suits your pocket and your puppy. Dogs don't need to be grain free, gluten free etc etc but these are often highlighted as a gimmick. For me, I'm changing my new puppy to a food that is a single protein source and a single carbohydrate source. This means, if she develops any allergies or sensitivities as she gets older, it will be very easy for me to switch her food to something completely different to rule it out or in as a source of the bother.

Do you have a name for your girl yet? What colour is she?
