I have an 8month old Chocolate Lab who up until last week was totally house trained. However the last week or so he had been soiling in his crate of a night. He gets exercised twice daily for over an hour at a time. He has his meals at the same time everyday and he rarely has treats or titbit's. He goes in crate at roughly 11pm. (He has another quick 10 min walk prior to this where he does do his business) we get up between 8-9am this has not been a problem for last 2-3 months I even got up at 6.30am and he has still messed his crate. Any ideas pls. He is not doing it during day. He hasn't eaten anything different and doesn't appear to have an upset tum.

no expert here, but maybe go back to basics and start feeding him his meals inside the crate? reinforce that his crate is his den and not to make a mess of it.

my boy had an accident the day after christmas. discovered him laying in between two piles of poop. thought he was sick, but maybe he just had something that didn't quite agree with him. we dialed his food and treats back. so far no accidents again. he has been good for over a month, but he still has an occasional accident inside the house. always because we weren't mindful of him having to pee after drinking/playing.

Sparky goes to sleep around 9 pm and he goes to first poo/pee at 4 or 5 am. That's about 8 hours at the most. Usually he gets taken out at 4 am by my wife. When he had an accident, I woke up late and didn't get to him until 6:30 am.

I also made sure I cleaned that plastic tray well and sprayed it with the enzymatic cleaner to get rid of any poo odors.

    Good luck!

Are his poos a bit sloppy? Soft poos are hard to keep in as we know ourselves (TMI!)
