We got new neighbors a couple of months ago......3 cats!!!!Dexter of course has a fascination and there have been a few more leaps over the garden wall since they arrived.Been working on this as well as walking past them in the park opposite my front door where they just lie luxuriating in the sun....That hasn't been a great success to be honest we are STILL walking a big way around them and treating a lot to look at me...the distance doesn't seem to be decreasing at all and if he gets the chance of an off lead chase.....well,all recall bets are off!!!! Anyway think the cats have helped me out ....just taken him out in the garden for some stop whistle practice( thankyou Pippa for part 3 )and he cornered one in the bushes that I hadn't seen,I couldn't get him away before the cat biffed him one on the nose!!!!he didn't yell or give up the chase but I'm hoping that he has a think about it this afternoon and decides a scratch on the nose is what happens when you chase cats.Ive patched him up and put some antiseptic on and he seems none the worse for wear....hope the poor cat is ok ???
Re: Ouch! Oh dear, poor lad but definately a lesson learned , cats rarely come off worse in a stand off :
Re: Ouch! Dex in the wars again : Have you ever taken a doggy First Aid course Angela. On second thoughts.....you could probably RUN one! I do hope Dex hasn't been too traumatised, but does learn from his kittie neigbour....
Re: Ouch! I know!im getting quite the dab hand....hopefully he won't cause me to have to use my skills again anytime soon .....some kind person has just told me a horror story about a tail gone bad! :-\ I'm not even thinking about it because Dexters is looking peachy and it going to be fine! X
Re: Ouch! Yes, Angela - be positive!! You always hear stories of things that "go bad" but hardly ever the good stories where things work out right
