My lab puppy has just been able to go for walks, on his first walk we didn't get far at all with him trying to go back home every few minutes. We have an older lab as well so for his second walk we took them both together the puppy was slightly better and managed to follow him, (even though this took a long time and he did keep stopping). However today we tried to take him again with the other dog and it was a disaster he didn't get far and began crying constantly trying to walk back towards the house.
Any tips or advice on what to try to get my puppy to enjoy his walks.

This is not unusual at all. Try carrying (or driving if he's too heavy) and then just walking home.

Mollie (15 weeks) is not a keen walker. I give her treats now and again and that gees her up a bit, but I don't show her the treats as then she'll then only walk if there's a treat luring her - not a good idea.

They soon get through this stage and need teaching not to pull!

We have found that our 11 week old puppy was a little unsure initially, we gave him lots of treats and he was a lot better. It was once he got past a certain tree on the path he was fine. We still have to give him treats but not as many, he is getting better. Perseverance and patience is definitely the key. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure I wrote the exact same post as you did when Archie was little! It took a while to get him used to the idea of leaving the safety and warmth of his home, but now he's willing to tear it up any time, any where!

There is a little sheepdog pup near us who hates his walks. Steadily he's getting braver but he takes ages just to get around the block. His poor owner is very patient with him.

    Thanks for all your replies!
After trying treats, walking with another very calm dog and mostly LOTS of patience he's managed to go on a more successful walk today!, once he's on the field he loves it and goes exploring however walking up to the field he just seems very suspicious especially of cars! So hopefully after time he will get more confident!
