My husband and I are on a strict diet. Trying to undo the last six years of eating eating eating. The interesting consequence is that Snowie has lost weight!! And now we realise how many titbits we were feeding him: pieces of cheddar cheese mostly, but anything really; we always felt guilty about not sharing what we were eating. Now, there's no more cheddar cheese or cream tubs to lick out and we are eating so much less. I must confess we are both worried a little about him. His ribs have started to show more. He's due for deworming in Feb and I don't want to deworm him unnecessarily if he's simply losing weight cos he's getting fewer calories!! Worry worry worry! My husband and I keep reminding each other that it is far too common that we see fat Labradors, and that there is nothing wrong with a slimmer dog. Of course, though, I don't want him to be getting thin for another reason other than eating less. But he had blood tests recently and he's just perfect. I guess a few pieces of cheddar cheese and, oh yes, don't forget all the buttery toast, does make a difference...
Oh dear Snowie! Starvation rations I would mount a protest! Well done all of you, more resolve than I have right now.
