25 January 2016 - 31kg Slightly reduced (guess 10%) amounts of kibble at breakfast and supper. No snacking or treating between meals. No hoovering up after the grandchildren have eaten. Licking out yogurt pots permitted. Cucumber (she loves cucumber) and other raw vegetables still permitted. One dental stick allowed. Updates may not be exactly 1 week apart as we have holiday and other commitments.
Maybe progress photos would be a good addition, David? This may be an unashamed plug to get more pictures of the lovely SBD, but I don't care. It's for science, innit?
Oh goodness! I'll try! Means getting one today of course. I'll have to check out tech help on how to post a photo.
David! Honestly! This highlights exactly how few photos we have of Lady. You should be ashamed. Get to it, man. Tch.
Ok so that's the food intake. No mention of other relevant 'statistics' i.e. : -Mournful looks and general starved demeanour when staring in the direction of the food store. -Bereft sighs when realising no treats forthcoming. -Dramatic flinging of body into bed when realising ' no hoovering' allowed. He he I hope she isn't torturing you too much ! X
Good luck with the errr … diet Lady but did you know how much sugar there is in those Dental Stix? Dried fish skin treats are much better for the waisteline and teeth xx
Just looked at the box (Pedigree Dentastix) didn't seem to be out of the ordinary sugar or fat wise, but will look at the fish skin treats - she loves them. Here she is as at 26th January 2017. The Small Black Dog!
Ah, she has a lovely face She definitely doesn't look obese by any standards, but looking forward to seeing her at her fighting weight!
She's got a little to lose - Tatze was the same about 18 months ago, she's a slim 26Kg now (she's not a small build). With determination it's easy to do. We use fish cubes a LOT. They can be shoved into Kongs too - mine are chewing one of those each right now Here's where we get them from - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Challenge-...TF8&qid=1485448702&sr=8-1&keywords=Fish+cubes ...
Yes she's not obese, just carrying too much weight. As she has ED it's important to keep her at or around minimum fit weight. Just ordered the fish cubes! She's going to get a bit more exercise over the next few days as well. It's the last shoot of the season on Saturday so she'll be on-peg with me as usual. Then on Tuesday I've been invited by our keeper to do a day's walked-up with him and 2 or 3 other guns, so Lady will be in her element!
She has to be upside down to see them. Now that I've cracked the photo challenge I'll see if I can get a shot tomorrow. She is pretty. My daughter picked her out (or was it the other way around)?
I get mine from Ebay much cheaper at £14 per kilo and often with special offers if you buy 3kgs you do save some more money. They do other fish skin treats too. The company is Natural Pets. x http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291995716951?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
SBD is certainly a pretty girl. We struggle with Harley's weight on occasion - she fluctuates between 27kg-28.5kg. She's currently 27.8kg so we are on decreased food intake and mainly use fish skin chews too. Good luck with the 'I'm starving' looks.
Lovely to see Lady pics (does that sound dodgy?) She is very pretty. I hope the diet isn't actually too painful xx
