    Hello all,

My beautiful lab puppy is just shy of 14 weeks. For a variety of reasons she only had her second set of vaccinations last week, so I haven't been taking her out. I've got a nice big garden so we spend lots of time outside, and after leash training her for the last week we took a short walk down the road this morning ahead of our first proper outing on Sunday to puppy school. Needless to say she loved it. I kept it short, about 15 minutes or so, and when we came back she had a proper case of the puppy crazies! Dashing around the house, picking up every toy, jumping around. Is this a normal? I'm thinking it's just a reaction to all the new stimulation from the big wide world?

Yes, it's quite normal.....well, it is for my girl. She used to have hoolies around the house / garden after walks. At age 3, she doesn't do it very much, but still does sometimes. M

Perfectly normal! You might get this after every walk for a few more months. Be prepared :D

A calming kong after a walk can help.

Whew! It wiped her out though. She's dead to the world now :).

    And thats a good thing!

Ours has continued to do that no matter how tired after a walk its still time for a game of zoomies/chaseys in the back yard before she stops and crashes out - she's nearly 8 months now

Coco, 2.5 years, did this yesterday when we came in from our walk. He went nuts, zooming around the house, grabbing toys and flinging them around, splaying his muddy feet all over the beige carpets  Then he just barked at me..no idea what for. After I tried tossing a couple of toys for him, both wrong, he flopped down and went to sleep.

LOL, for just a few more months? Oban is 9 years old and he will still zoom after a walk. And after a swim, or heck, even a puddle. We woke up to about 20 cm (8 inches) of new snow, major zoomies on the way.

When she is zooming you can assign a name and after a while you can instigate zoomies. Just about the same thing you do for potty training, wait for the action, give it a name, then ask for the action. Not in the house, I don't allow zoomies in the house.

Tatze can go for a long two hour walk, come home and - zooooooomies!

    Then she'll sleep all afternoon.

    She's 3 years old.

Mollie is 19 weeks and she's completely unpredictable zoomy wise.

    :)

Yup Bailey has zoomies after walks before wanting a cuddle and crashing out for the rest of the night! We just say "mad dog" and off he goes :D. He is 9 days short of being 1 year old
