Later this week, we’ll be upgrading the forum from http to https. This is because google wants all websites which collect sensitive information to have the latest encrypted urls. The changes are aimed at stores and other sites that collect credit card details etc. But although we don’t store anyone’s financial details on this site, forums do have passwords and therefore we have fallen into google’s net and need to comply.

So, that being the case, there will be some downtime as we switch over, probably not more than an hour or two, probably on Thurday morning, and hopefully, that will be that. But… knowing how these things go, it is possible we could be offline for longer.

If there is a significant delay, I’ll post up on our facebook page, so you’ll be able to get updates there. Fingers crossed for a smooth transition, and thank you in advance for your patience :)

Just a quick follow up folks - if everything runs to schedule, there may be some downtime first thing tomorrow morning. Check facebook for info if downtime is prolonged

The forum migration to https is progressing as planned - we are just tidying up a few loose ends and wanted to check that none of you are having any problems.

Can you let me know in this thread if you are seeing anything unusual, or having trouble accessing any part of the forum?

    Thanks!
