I have a 9 week old yellow lab and in the living room there is a large cage for her as well as baby gates that separate her from the kitchen and keep her in the living room but the problem is my sofa is in the living room and when I'm trying to watch tv she keeps jumping and biting on me, should I make her area smaller and keep the couch outside of it?, she used to always go into her crate by herself but now she hardly does she just finds a spot near the gate and sleeps there, sorry if I sound like a noob it's my first dog

Hello and welcome to the forum. When she's jumping and biting you, she's trying to get you to play. She's a baby - play with her :)
Sadly, things like adult time and watching TV are a bit of a luxury those first few weeks, but just enjoy your puppy instead. They grow so fast! If she gets frantic, then she's probably over-tired and needs to be popped into her crate, but all the time it's just normal puppy play, she should be entertained. Do some training with her, which should wear her out - just for a couple of minutes - or give her a kong to chew, or bury some kibble in a snuffle mat etc. These will give you a few minutes to chill, but keep her occupied. But, I'm afraid these first weeks need you to interact more with her while she's awake and make the most of it when she's asleep :)

I agree with snowbunny, it's 100% normal play - here is an excellent article (one of many, all worth reading).

Welcome to you from Mags, Tatze and Mollie :hi:

Tatze is my pet dog, a black Lab and she's three years old. Tatze means 'paw' in German.
