Dear Helen, I too am with you, your family and your Charlie. He doesn't deserve such bad luck. So sorry for you all, especially him, but they do bounce back fast. Mocha was in hospital last week. I berated myself for being so demanding on her to preform as she lay there so sick and weak. The most important thing is their safety/health and their happiness. Everything else is secondary. It's a horrible feeling to look at an empty bed, and know they are in a crate missing home. I hope with all my heart he heals quickly and that you can continue to be strong. Lots of love and hugs to Charlie.

Firstly, thank you ALL so much for your support and wishes to our family and Charlie it means so much to us :inlove:

So, what a long day, poor Charlie has been through the ringer since Saturday that's for sure, he has been scoped, 2 CT Scans, numerous drugs, you name it he's had it so thank heavens for the insurance. I was finally allowed to collect him today at 6.30 pm, to say he was overjoyed to see us is an understatement. The vet called me through to the CT room to show me his scans which showed how extremely lucky he has been. The stick went under his tongue so it's bruised then to the back of his throat causing a hole, the stick very narrowly missed his spinal cord and 2mm the other side it missed his jugular vein and trachea, so we wouldn't have been bringing our boy home had the stick hit these areas :( She showed me a long dark long area which she described as the muscle breaking apart from the sheer strength and speed he hit the stick then pulling away from it, she said that would have been incredibly painful. Unfortunately there are some splinters in the hole but it would have far more dangerous to try and flush them out as they might have gone further down, she hopes they will disolve over time but we have to watch for any lumps that appear round his neck as this indicates an abscess which would need immediate surgery to drain, this can happen several weeks after the initial injury so still a way to go, fingers crossed this doesn't happen. He is on lots of medication and several small meals a day, no walks for a few days as he needs rest. Our lovely vet couldn't believe his injury and Charlie is the talk of the vet surgery. She said he has been a complete star and never mind cats having 9 lives she reckons Charlie must have more

I hope I have described and understood everything I have been told by the vet as well as I can under the circumstances as I have been feeling sick to my stomach since it happened, so forgive me if I have anything wrong.

Sorry for the delay in my update but we are just so happy to have him home I lost track of time  There have been lots of cuddles as you can imagine.

Again, our sincere thanks to you all, each and every one of you are :star::star: xxxx
