Like most labs, our Labrador loves to play fetch. The problem that we run into though are his pads on his paws splitting or cracking. We live in rural North Dakota and our driveway is filled with scoria, which is like a clay gravel. Is there anything that we can apply to his paws to help prevent his paws from splitting?

Hi, I use paw wax which has helped my girl with her pads. I brought Mushers paw wax and apply it every 4/5 days. Might be worth a look. Also, do you rinse her paws off after being outside? That might help too.

I saw that on Amazon and was curious if it would help -- good to know, I will try that! We do usually rinse him off after being outside, mostly because he loves to roll in a mud puddle, so I'll make sure to keep doing that too! Thank you for the help!

@Naya What is mushers paw wax? Is it Vaseline or lanolin or beeswax? We don't get it in my area so am wondering what the alternatives are. Thanks!
