Hi all, my name is Chantal and Kai is a 7 month old yellow lab. Very happy to have found this site and forum, lot of great information for a novice lab owner. I've had Kai since he was 8 weeks and it's been an amazing adventure. He is such a wonderful puppy, very sweet and learns quick. The only problem I've had has been his eating everything he sees, rock, sticks, plants, flowers, trash... He has had two surgeries due to "foreign object" obstruction, first one was due to eating a large stick that got stuck. Second one was the day after the first surgery and it was for eating all the puppy pads the vet placed in the kennel while he was recovering. I'm hoping he'll outgrow wanting to eat everything and anything. We are still working hard on "leave it" but sometimes he is extremely quick! Thanks for having me!
Hello and welcome to you and Kai from me and Wispa (5) and Tuppence (3). Kai sounds quite a character! Tuppence hasn't yet stopped trying to scavenge for things she shouldn't have and has selective hearing as far as 'leave it!' is concerned!
Welcome to you from Mags, Tatze and Mollie from Manchester UK Tatze is my pet dog, a black Lab and she's three years old. Tatze means 'paw' in German. Mollie is my fourth Guide Dog puppy, a black Lab who is five months old.
Welcome from Holly and me in Monmouth, Wales. Holly's a bit of a scavenger. She likes sampling all sorts of non food items. She's particularly fond of poo, but will try anything once. Yesterday morning she chewed up my double bass rosin. Last night I called her in from the garden and she was playing with a dead bird. Life with A Labrador is one long adventure!
Hi and welcome from me and my two black labs. Ash my 10 wk old pup is being a pain for eating everything he finds, he's already thrown up two stones on separate occasions! We're working hard on 'leave' too.
Good heavens 2 surgeries! Little mischief! I've been lucky,I haven't got a great scavenger but there's always a chance !!!!!Dexter did have a pebble obsession but ,management (for that read garden redesign! )Leave training and time did solve that! Best Wishes Angela x
