    Hi,

Not sure this is the right place.

Vanilla seems to have gone off her kible about 5weeks ago. She was on medication, which was to help her reduce her itching. She started to spit the tablet out after taking it for about 4weeks, so after a couple of days we stoped giving it to her. But roughly at the same time she stopped eating her kibble out of her bowl. She would just look at it, but not eat. She started on some new antibiotics for 2weeks for something else about 4weeks ago for 2weeks. She took them no problems in the beginning, but after about 1week we had to put them in some banana or mincemeat.

At first we thought it was that she was being a fussy eater, so we did the approach of leaving the food for 15min. and if nothing remove. Then same at dinner time. This lasted for a couple of days, but still nothing. In the end we gave her some bland food as she started being ill due to the tablets that she had to take.
Amongst all off this she would eat the kibble out on her walks etc. But also snub her nose at them at times.
We got some new ones as we thought maybe it was the kibble gone off. But same result. We now bought the adult version of the same brand, and the first meal she had no problem eating it out of a bowl. But then that stoped, but we got her to eat her full allowance through her walks etc.
We thought it was the bowl, but that does not seem to be the case either.
Then thought it might have something to do with that my wife returned to work (after summer holidays) and then me, but this started prior to all of this...

We have a Vet appointment for something else this evening so will mention it again.

Anyone got any thoughts. She is not loosing weight, so not worried about that side at moment.

    Thanks

I'm going through something similar at the moment. He would eat if hand-fed, but he would fuss at the kong or bowl. I believe he's getting too many treats during the day and also table food. So no more "excessive" treats or table food for the meantime. I will try to put some chicken broth with his kibble if he continues this. He is eating, just not his kibble.

My dog has done this a few times, especially when he was younger, he'd look at the food and walk off, if we hand fed him he would eat it. In the end I added some warm water to his food then he would eat it.

Thanks, yes we have tried chicken stock and water, but still nothing. Then it kind of goes to waste if I forget to fill a kong.
Treat wise she does not get that many to fill her up. But we even removed them and still nothing.
And everybody says Labradors have no full mode and just eat and eat...not in this case

She may just be feeling unwell, not eating is usually a sign of that.

Not unvell as per the vet visit last night. She had a full check up.
It seems to be 2fold, sadness as her routine has changed with us both going back to work within a short timeframe and since her season finished she just seems to take longer to get back to normal. Over a month now, but vet said can take up to 2.
    At least we know

So yesterday night he refused to touch his food so it was taken away. This morning, he just looked at the bowl and didn't even smell it. That too was taken away. No treats/table food. Some teasing with us eating in front of him. My wife gave him his kibble and he ate it all!. Let's see if he eats in the morning.

Bailey has been a challenge with kibble, loving it one minute and turning his nose up at it the next. We've tried the waiting it out (vet told us dogs can go a couple of days without eating) as he would devour anything in his bowl if it was our food underneath the kibble. We have just introduced him to raw feeding - at the moment still working out what he likes, so he is having a raw breakfast and then kibble in the evening with a few bits of chicken in the bottom of the bowl.

He loves his breakfast so we are considering just swapping completely to raw - once we find out what he likes. So far loves the chicken stuff and is OK with a mix of duck heart and salmon :puke: but wouldn't touch the beef (he is also better with them frozen for some weird reason - my sisters boy is the same he won't touch them defrosted).

Day two of him snarfing his kibble down again. I put the bowl down and he just lays there. I nudge the bowl closer to him and he starts eating away. Lazy pup.
