Thank you for posting this. Mia's experience sounds awful, and really worrying. I'm sorry that she's still having seizures despite the anti-epilepsy treatment. Is there a treatment for paroxysmal disorder? I hope you can find something. I hadn't heard of paroxysmal disorder before and searched to see there are a couple of old threads about it on this forum - have you read those?

My dog's behaviour is very different. It's not distressing at all for her or me, and I'm so relieved that it sounds increasingly unlike epilepsy and that if there is anything neurological there, it is very very mild. That said, there is something that is a bit odd and it is very interesting to know about paroxysmal disorder.

I appreciate your comments and hope Mia gets treated soon.

Unfortunately I am not able to view the video clip for some reason - but would be very interested to do so. My lab has suffered from episodes of paroxysmal dyskinesia since 2006. This is a link to a video showing one of his episodes - though I would stress that his episodes can vary considerably in severity and duration
He remains fully conscious and responsive throughout the episode - and once the episode is over he gets to his feet and runs around like nothing ever happened.
Paroxysmal dyskinesia is currently being researched by UK neurologists, and the Breed Council plans to conduct a survey shortly - in order to try to establish how prevalent the condition is - and also to hopefully raise awareness of PD in labradors. I would be happy to share the information from the published initial study with anybody who is interested

BJ's seizures were very similar to Monty's, yet, despite constant queries and discussions with vets, they insisted he was enduring epileptic seizures. Always keen to please, our dear old boy even had a seizure whilst in the surgery. The vet immediately turned off all the lights and hunkered down on the floor beside him, with her hands gently on him, she was spot on with her reactions. Sadly now left the practice.

Apologies blackandwhitedo, I don't mean to interrupt your thread.
