Sam makes regular visits to my daughter who lives just over the lane from us , but mainly when he accompanies me . He has stayed without me for shortish times but today , it necessitated a long stay whilst I took my husband to hospital in Truro . Must point out that Sam is not an overly fussy dog , never has been , especially with us ! He rarely bothers to greet us after shopping trips , or first thing in the mornings either , although he does often lay beside me on the sofa with his big head on my lap , but this is about the extent of it ! I went over the lane to fetch him the moment we got home , after we`d been away for about four hours , and he went loopy ! He heard my voice as I went in and came charging , well, he came lopping , out of the sitting room , tail going ten to the dozen and shock horror , licking my hands . I`ve often wondered if he loves us , because of his oft indifference , but now I know he does, it was lovely x

So lovely! I never understood the whole "ignore your dog when you come home". The best greeting in the world is like Sam's. In return for such a greeting, I greet in equal excitement.

They are the best greetings as they instantly make you feel loved no matter what, and for that moment in time you forget everything else. Iam sure that brightened your day.

Good boy, Sam! I hope that more than made up for a tough day.
