hello Chloe 6 and half months now, doing very well, usual lab naughtiness. last Sunday on walk was sick, brought up food.
No diarrheoa etc., full of beans. Monday morning had been a bit sick in night, brownish. I have some Pro Kolin so gave her a dose she weighs around 22 kg so measured it out. Ate normally (Burns complete) breakfast, fine all day, full of beans, bright and cheerful.
Brought up some of her tea. Hmmm. Full of beans all evening, in fact a little pest. Gave her a filled bone, these never upset her.
During night came down this morning to a little bit of liquid brown again. She does not seem ill. Wondering if she picked something up as always searching for anything edible even though constantly watching her.

Her breakfast has stayed down this morning and she seems ok again, she has been helping to fill he washing machine!! am wondering whether to give vet a ring, they are many miles away to visit,or wait 48 hours and then ring and go if necessary if she is sick again?

She is not listless eyes bright etc., was wormed a few weeks ago,no sign in poo, also pooh normal.
Her tummy was rumbling yesterday but seems ok this morning.
Any advice most welcome, had two labs previously so am used to dogs.
    Thank you.

    Best regards
    Valm

Hi there, so sorry Chloe is poorly.

I think I'd call the vet to be sure and I'd probably put her on something really bland like rice and chicken until her tum settles back down. Our dog is 2 and a half now but he was pretty sensitive around 6-9 months. Sometimes I even didn't give him any food for 24 hours to let whatever it was pass through. We also gave probiotic yoghurt to help restock the gut with good stuff.

Hope she gets better soon :)

OK thank you, so far so good today. But will definitely give them a ring if there is any sign of it happening again. One thing she did have that she has not had before, but it was the night before the afternoon she was sick, a really strong hyde ring, I did not fancy it as it was getting loose, I cut the bits off and watched her all the time, in end threw it away.

Also, in hindsight, a friend asked me in when passing her house, we all went into her garden, Chloe drank some rather old looking bird bath water, her own dog did too, however, she was sick pretty soon after this, probably too soon for it to be that, but birds can carry stuff. Will get out the chicken and rice, the Pro Kolin although expensive is very good. Well it is good if they do sloppy poo, but in that department she is fine.
I am not sure if it is for sick.
I hope it is something she has picked up and not problems on the horizon healthwise, so as you say will give them a ring.

Thank you for replying, it does help to talk to someone.
I thin probiotic yoghurt sounds good as Pro Kolin is very very expensive, even on the internet. I will get some, trying to use common sense is about a tablespoonful enough?
    Best wishes, thanks again
    Val

We got some expensive probiotic stuff from the vet when Riley was first ill but she told us to just put a big dollop of yoghurt in with his dinner once the stuff she'd given us had run out so I just gave him a heaped tablespoon :)

Val I've also split your post away from the sticky about calling a vet so you have a complete thread with everyone's responses in it. Just in case someone else asks an unrelated question :)

Our vet also said that their immune systems actually take quite a while to develop so hopefully it is just something she picked up :)

Sorry for the multiple posts....I'm multi-tasking badly :)

Thank you all very much for input. Well, pleased to tell you that Chloe is back to normal. Was quite ready to ring vet if she vomited again in the night, but she didn't. Was barking all through teatime tonight, so yep, she is better. I will definitely try yoghurt when the Pro Kolin finishes. It was £17 from the vet and about £13 on net, although I have seen it for less, it is good stuff.

    Cheers and thanks again Val
