How funny! I was thinking of @Emily_BabbelHund on Saturday at our dog trial! There was a lady there with a great big Rottie that, in the past I would have found utterly terrifying (I've always been quite scared of dogs), but I thought of Brogan and went and said hello. He was beautiful of course and so lovely and gentle :)

Aww...he's indeed gorgeous! If you weren't a half a world away I'd be popping over this weekend to visit him. Don't worry, I'll find my pup...hopefully on the same continent, if not the same country. ;)

Gosh darn it, someone is cutting onions in here and I've gone all sniffly!

Thank you for saying this, you have no idea how it makes me feel to hear that Brogan is still able to be a Rottie ambassador and even after his passing help people think differently about his breed.

Rorys new girl friend is a rottie called Rosie she's adorable. She has a pink harness with little hearts all over it. When she sees Rory she sings to him. Adorable

Oh heck - those onions must be coming through my laptop....As long as your are there to champion Brogan, he will carry on being the Rottie Ambassador - that's the thing with dogs - they are with us long after their bodies have given up.

Random thought: I've seen prong collars mentioned very negatively on here on several occasions, and to be honest, I thought you all were stark raving mad. I mean, they look kind of fierce and I wouldn't want to grab a dog wearing a "prong collar" myself, but each to their own. In any case, just out of curiosity I decided to look them up (have a double-check), and Holy Hell! They're evil horrible devices! I thought the externally studded collars usually worn by dogs with "tough" reputations were prong collars. Oh, how wrong I was...

Never underestimate the power of pink.

No, seriously. I'm not a big fan of pink (REALLY not a big fan of pink) but found a collar for my rescue pit bull early on when she was still a foster. No idea why I bought it (maybe on sale?) but put it on her as I thought it looked lovely with her color. My goodness, so many people totally changed the way they acted towards her because of that silly pink collar! It was like she went from potential child murderer to sweet baby dog. As she WAS a sweet and gentle dog and I wanted people to see her that way, from then on the majority of her outfits became pink. Pink bandanas, pink coat, pink collars. It was a veritable waterfall of nauseating pink. But it TOTALLY worked.

So...Rottie with pink hearts named Rosie? EXCELLENT Rottie marketing! :D

I saw a ridiculous video the other day of someone (in the UK) extolling their virtues as the most gentle collar available. What the actual??!?!

Were they insane? How can giving anything pain be ok. I understand pain and wouldn't want to inflict it on others.it just makes my think some people have no empathy or any real understanding of ethics. They should not be allowed to encourage others in this abuse.

Has anyone else's old dogs got to the stage when they do terrible loud farts then look at you as if to say what? Because they are so deaf they can't hear themselves? Moo thinks she is doing silent but deadly ones but they are not silent and most definately deadly. She's never been a windy dog before .

Lilly often makes a little "squeak" when she sits down, and she always looks round with a "what was that" look :D

Quinn has had a bit of an off tummy for a couple weeks and has been farting (she doesn't usually). She farted (on my foot no less) so loudly that she scared herself and jumped off the couch :cwl:

My Jodhi wasn't deaf when she got older, but she did used to do the loud fart in her sleep, which would wake her up...and then she would give me this scolding look as if to say, "Hey, you! Stop disturbing my nap with your disgusting habits!". Man, I loved that dog. :D

Watching the Kyle Files on ITV.

It's so sad the way people treat dogs. But the prejudice against Staffies & pit bull type dogs is awful!

    So heartbreaking!

After dinner we move to the couch. Next minute Vanilla moves from her location and jumps up and kind of stands then settles down with her back into my arms as baby. Start licking me and then just rests her head on my shoulder.
I have no idea how she decided to do this as we have never taught this. But it is only with me which then OH says look at you two and gets very jealous.
