David and I took Hattie & Charlie on a 3 hour walk today and had some great unexpected training opportunities :) Firstly with a dog off lead coming towards us LAT = :star: Continued on through some wooded tracks when we heard a lot of dogs howling, horses, horns so we had walked near a Hunt. We continued on across the field where we saw some of the Hounds off on a scent along the edge of the woods, so we stood and watched at about 100 meter distance, Charlie looked very interested tail wagging, ears up yet he did a good LAT 3 times which I thought was good as it was an unusual scenario and extremely exciting to him = :star: On the last leg of our walk 4 off lead dogs which should have been on lead near the sheep sheds  again about 100 meters away, Charlie saw them stopped so LAT 3 times, he then did some lovely eye contact engaging with David and I looking at us across the park, lots of :cheese: cheese was consumed = :star:

Really happy with Charlie :) xx

Please don't feel you have to reply to this thread, I am keeping a log of progress or not, whatever the case might be

Today Charlie did a LAT passed a very large English Pointer with just a little whining. Saw him coming diverted into the road (not a busy one) so good distance, also did a sit for some more LAT, previously he would have had a bark so progress. He also walked passed a Land Rover with 2 working Collies that bark like CRAZY, Charlie did a LAT not a peep :) It's been a good weekend for meeting dogs, it must be Spring  x

Aw thanks Kate, those woes are embedded in my memory forever!:D

To round the weekend off we went in to a town park to do some more LAT, it has a large pond for boating etc. Lots of LAT are large dogs all good but I'm afraid the Ducks appeared and were just too much for Charlie's little brain, he went crazy barking at them, so we left pretty pronto :$ x

Monday 20th: Great LATs at a Collie charging/barking at a fence at Charlie. Not a peep :)

Tuesday 21st: Same Collie in a field, Charlie walked past LAT then sitting watching the Collie so quite a few LAT - perfect not a peep :) xx

    Wednesday 22nd: No training opportunites.

Thursday 23rd: A great opportunity with a Black Labrador walking 30 yards infront, lots of LAT - the Labrador was constantly looking back at Charlie who just kept his cool for LAT :)

Friday 24th: A Collie appeared very quickly out of a track which startled Charlie and David but still LAT - Charlie did really well, no reaction :)

Saturday 25th: No training opportunies as nobody out walking on a beautiful day, never mind  xx
