    That's exactly how I imagine Toby's inner monologue. :D

Oh Emily, you are such a talented writer and you really have a way of making your dogs come to life. You could really write a really fantastic children's series detailing all of their adventures! All you need is a talented illustrator. Go on!

My favourite book as kid was about the adventures of all the dogs on a particular street. I've been trying to track it down for years but my memory of it is so hazy I don't know where to begin. I remember a grandfatherly old english sheepdog that lived in a house with a big grandfather clock, and a scrappy little terrier but that's about it.

I can definitely see the potential for a series about Toby the Bodeguero - I'm hooked already!

That's very kind and in my fantasies I retire and write books about all my crazy dogs. Reality is a little different but still a bit of fun to tell of Toby's weekend adventures. :)

He would be a blast to draw - his facial expressions remind me a lot of my Mama Jodhi (she's on the right below along with Brogan and my devil poodle Tavish) - must be the terrier sass!

As for Toby, I'm going to try him out of his crate to sleep for the first time tonight. He'll probably hump my face and eat my pillow, but he's been making such progress that I thought it was time to give it a whirl.

Toby was a perfect angel overnight. Kept himself glued to my side but no scratching, biting or (most importantly) humping my face. I'm so proud of him! And what a relief that I can now leave the crate in the car and not lug it up and down stairs and all the way to the car and back multiple times a day! It's a borrowed crate from the rescue group and rather enormous for Toby which meant I was really struggling with it.

That's great news. All pillows intact, yay! It's lovely having a dog to snuggle up to in bed

Just now I heard a pop, a horrible screech and all the lights in the house went out. Toby was somewhere around the electrical outlet near the couch, but I've no idea how he managed to knock out the power to the whole house yet not fry himself. I don't even know how it was dangerous at all, as all the outlets are those kid-proof kind that you have to twist to even plug anything in. It takes me five minutes just to plug in my darn PC, but he pokes his nose in the near vicinity and apparently is channeling the electricity gods.

I checked him over and he's totally fine, just really freaked out. I re-set the circuit breakers and we also have power again, so 100% no harm, no foul. Only poor Toby stuck like glue to my leg under the table where I'm working. Poor little man.

And this after he's already done battle with a pack of savage horses on the beach, tried to kill several homicidal joggers and fallen madly in love with a Brittany Spaniel who did not return his affections in the slightest.

    And it's only 2:30pm.

    This dog is...um...unique? :hmm:

Ohhh Jen, beware what you wish for! Toby's rescue group is at this moment trying to work with a UK group to get him into a foster home there. For you, I'd do a personal delivery. :D

    Oh please.... MERCY, MERCY!!!

Just kidding - if I've done my job in the morning, he's usually pretty darn good in the evening. I took him out "hunting" yesterday evening on the bluffs near the beach which was a total blast. He really is the world's best hunter and has so much fun. He's also learned to tuck into my side and get cuddles on the couch in the evening instead of bouncing around like he's on fire. That's been the biggest change lately, that he does have quite a bit more of chill time.

Of course, he's also discovered right-before-bed zoomies, but I actually like that - he's a hoot to watch! :D

Since Fiona says if there's no photographic evidence, it didn't happen - here's Toby chilling on the couch for cuddle time (please excuse my chubby naked foot). He seems to have two settings: Speedy Gonzalez/Tasmanian Devil and comatose. I LIKE comatose...a lot!
