I think all of our labs (maybe not Cooper) have had cold tail (aka limber tail) at one time or another. Usually after a lot of swimming. It did not seem to bother them, so either it was not painful or they were stoic about it, but it went away in a few days. It made them look a little sad, but otherwise no real problem. Sometimes I wish Cooper had cold tail:rolleyes:. Last week she knocked over two full pints on our coffee table in the living room. Her tail is so big and heavy that she can hit the center of the table from either side, so no where is safe.

Hope Baily gets well soon and back to his normal self. And before you know it he will be standing infront of you showing off his new wag...

Poor boy. Harley has had it a few times and I think it's been painful for her as she struggles to settle, sit or wag her tail. I always pop her to the vets and get anti-inflammatories and painkillers which do help. I gave Harley 6 days with no walks, then 3 days of very short lead walks the first time it happened. Hope the meds help him settle X

Thank you for all your messages - Bales had his first lot of pain meds with his tea - he wasn't too sure about it, but he did eat it down (liquid on his food). I took him with me to work tonight as I wanted to check he didn't have any vomiting or diarrhoea from it. He managed a few wags while at the club, greeting people and getting fussed, and he seemed to settle and managed a sit too. He's now curled up in his downstairs bed snoring away. Definitely more comfortable for him :)

So glad to hear that Bailey's on the mend. He was obviously very uncomfortable, poor sausage.

Good news that Bailey is a bit more comfortable, nothing worse than a labrador that can't wag his tail!

Finn had this just a few weeks ago after swimming in the sea. After a couple of days it was gone!
