We collect our lab pup very soon. I would like to use a playpen, possibly for the whole of the first year to keep her safe if I have to pop out the house. The Labrador site recommends Ellie Bo Heavy Duty Modular puppy pen. It can be piurchased in 3 height options, 80, 100, or 120 cm. I would prefer 80 cm but is there a danger of her jumping over it? 120 seems rather excessive? 100? Any advice from those who have tried and tested them appreciated!
    Thank you!

I have the 100 and I consider it the perfect height. Some puppies are more adventurous than others (Mags @Boogie has a photo of one of her Guide Dog pups climbing out of her pen!) but I think the 100cm would be enough to put most off.

I stupidly bought one that's even higher than 120 - it's only a bit shorter than me (I'm 5 foot 1) Being taller made it heavier to move around and reposition so definitely go for the 100cm - and Monty would have been absolutely fine with the 80cm one in hindsight as he's not a jumper at all.

OUrs are home made and VERY sturdy, about 42 inches, they vary. That's about 106 cm. Ours absolutely cannot be knocked over or collapse like some commercial ones I've seen. I do know Labs to be able to fairly easily jump 48 inches outside. Inside is different at my house, they can't make much of a run at it. Still, you never know ahead of time which one will turn out to be Houdini or the next agility star.

    Ours is 80cm.

Twiglet managed to climb over it, but she would have done that whatever the height, she was an expert climber!

Ours is only 30 in, or approximately 80 cm. Neither Tilly or Cooper every got out of it, but they weren't inclined to try. We have temporarily re-purposed it to serve as a gate to our front porch, until I get a permanent one built. Cooper could probably go over it in a flash if she wanted to, but both dogs sit contentedly on the front porch watching the world go by. It is a Precision Pen and while it is bigger, it is not as substantial looking as the one in the photo. That may actually keep them from trying to climb on it.

So I have a 48 inch pen that Im using. I set it up so that my pups crate is connected into it so she has a comfortable place to sleep and spend time in. The problem is that the crate is not as tall as the pen. I think its tall enough right now, so I'm not worried about her getting out, but when shes bigger I suspect she will be able to get out easily if she wanted. Do any of you have any advice, should I just include a bed and no crate when she gets older, or should I make something to make the crate as tall as the pen?
