Oh Jackie  I'm afraid checking and double checking all doors are locked is the only way to go with Jackie the great escapologist! Isn't your garden secure? That should be a priority incase he does get out of the house again. It would be terrible if he got run over, caused an accident or was stolen :( x

Right now, we've simply resolved to take him with us (or more specifically me, since it is only when I am out of his sight that he does this) everywhere.

Our garden isn't secure, and as it is, it is prohibitively expensive to make it so. There are five separate doors on our house, on in each direction and the furnace room door as well, so we would have to surround the entire house, which I realize doesn't sound too bad, but as I am on disability and live with my dad (who is retired) and my mum (a civil servant), we aren't exactly swimming in dosh. The money just isn't there for such a large project.

In the future, if I can't take him with me for some reason, I am going to put him in daycare. We have a good doggy daycare not too far away from here with a good reputation and reasonable prices.

Sounds like a good plan to take Jackie with you or a doggy daycare :) I appreciate how expensive all these things are. I hope you, your Mum and Dad are all OK. xx

Oh, so can I, he's not subtle about being overjoyed that he's always with me. Makes privacy much more precious, cause he will lay and whine (which I ignore completely) outside the bathroom door, as it is the only place I can shake off my new labrador extension.

If I don't open the door, then my husband does - feels sorry for the poor dog who just MUST be with me in the little room! I realize I will never use the bathroom alone for as long as Snowie is with us.
