The OH thinks I'm a lunatic for my random laughter! Hilarious Xena, then the reminder of Benson and the handbags... Nearly wet myself
Oh my gosh what an adventure! I remember Lilly polishing off the cat biscuits at a friend's house when we went for a BBQ (Lilly was invited, their cat was upstairs and safe). Our friend said, oh are you hungry? and got down the cat biscuits to replenish the bowl. Clearly never owned a labrador!
I've chuckled at all these stories ,so glad it's not only me.When Dexter first arrived we were invited into the garden of a neighbour who I loosely knew through my sister for a little play with their collie x.They had artificial grass so I was very fastidious about Dexter doing his tea time toilet before we went in......well he went mental, zooming round their garden like a circus pony, knocking over garden chairs, massive planters were rocking .Whilst I was straightening up his destruction I didn't see him run in the side door of their house where a movie night/sleepover was taking place.Next minute 6 kids come running out of the house ( I'm certain some were crying) followed by my devil dog holding their bowls of popcorn above their heads screaming,Help, help, there's a dog in the house and he's eating EVERYTHING! ....eventually I got hold of the beast and to add the final insult he spun round on the spot and did a big runny poo on their artificial grass.....we were never invited back!
When we went to see Nell three weeks ago ( and yes it was just supposed to be a look ! ) we had taken Sam with us to test the water . He walked into the house and immediately ate the whole bowl of cat food left down ( for the cat and Nell too ) . I felt shocking , and so was pleased when he vacated the room and headed out to the garden via the patio doors , where he promptly ate the little girls sandwich lunch which was laid out picnic style on a childs table . Boy , I was so glad to get out x
Last week, on holiday on Lindisfarne, we had a lovely cottage with a shared garden. Every time the people in the neighbouring cottage left their door open Miss Mollie was in and exploring the counters and hoovering up their two dogs' food. Luckily they loved her! It was me who was a little disconcerted when I let Mollie out before breakfast, to be greeted by the gentleman - who was wearing a fluffy pink dressing gown and red pyjamas with cats printed on them ..
My mum has been doing her garden all nice for the summer - planting her tubs and new bulbs etc (she didn't tell me this though). I popped round to see them with Stanners and he loves their garden because it's huge and he can run around sniffing and marking for ages. So we let him out and me & my mum were sat having a cuppa. He seemed to be out there for a very long time and was farrrr too quiet so I stuck my head out to absolute destruction. Every tub was overturned, there was soil everywhere and a very happy proud dog who was placing his final prize in the middle of his huge pile of her new plants. I was saying sorry to my mum and that if I'd known there would be loads of fresh soil etc I wouldn't have let him out, but I couldn't stop laughing at how proudly Stanley was trotting around with the bulb. Luckily she saw the funny side - she has to love him anyway, she's his nana
