My Jetta is 5 months old and is 90% potty trained. Jetta doesn't use vocal signals to let me know she has to go out. I did bell training, but it hasn't clicked. One problem is that she doesn't ring the bell until we both get to the door and doesn't hit the bells hard enough to make them ring. I have both potty bells and a small leather strip of brass bells. I'm now thinking of getting a cow bell.

Sometimes she signals by sitting still, sometimes she walks away as if getting a toy and pees before coming back. She knows she's done something wrong when she misses and will go to her crate.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

My puppy is 5 months old too. She is a very quiet dog and doesn't give any indication when she needs to go. She did go to the back door for a while but stopped doing that. I do have to judge myself when she needs to go outside so I make sure she has enough opportunities. After a sleep, before or after food, before bed, after walks, etc etc. We have had no accidents in the house for weeks.

So I have no ideas I'm afraid other than regular trips outside. Maybe you could log when she has her accidents to see if there is a pattern i.e how much time has gone by since the wee before her accident so you can take her out earlier.
