Last night Homer woke us up barking, which is unusual, he normally wakes me by scratching his collar if he wants an early morning pee. Hubby got up and let him out, H barked a few times in the garden then came back inside. This morning there were policemen outside the house two up from us which is having extensive building works done to it. There had been a breaking with £1,000s of tools stolen. I told the policeman that our dog had woken us up in the night, but thought it might not be significant. The policeman was quite interested and popped in to take a proper notes in his book. Hubby could give an approximate time H was barking which the policeman said was very helpful and would save them a lot of time searching through nearby cctv cameras. The policeman was very impressed that H was such a good guard dog and gave him a scratch on the head.
Now I have the police on my side if ever a neighbour complains about his barking. Hubby thinks he should have a special "neighbourhood protection service dog" vest then he'll be allowed into all the 'service dog' only shops, and get extra treats.
He could get the blues and twos discount card? You can get discount in most places up to 10%. Just think of the treats Homer
