I believe most of "Guide Dogs For the Blind" in Sandy OR are Labs not crosses. I always thought Labs were more stubborn than Goldens. In the SAR community I understand that they generally prefer Labs, because the Lab is more likely to follow their nose/instinct, and ignore handler if the dog thinks he is on the track. Goldens were more likely to do what the handler wanted, even if the dog knew it was wrong.
