Lynne, that lump in his mouth is the papilla of the vomeronasal organ and is a completely normal piece of anatomy and absolutely nothing to worry about at all so enjoy your hols minus the 100 Euro of course....

    mrs observant lynne, :)
i check every inch of him, if any thing is wrong straight to the vets, she cleans his ears, clips his dew claws, when i first noticed his limp, she could not believe how i had picked up on it so soon, :)
he is our baby, :) ;D
thank god my breeder friend recommended my vet :)

Well, I think it's a really good practice. Dogs can't tell us what's wrong with them, so they rely on us to notice. And Jasper is no doubt very comfortable with being handled now, which is great. :)

And after googling Vomeronasal organ I am now more impressed than ever with dogs' amazing sense of smell.

jasper as been a very mouthy puppy, so didn't dare put my fingers in his mouth, your photos of obi got me thinking i needed to take a closer look at his teeth, so thanks to you jasper as got to go the routine of me poking about in his mouth :)

You do NOT have the only naughty boy, Lynne... You all would get tired of my posts if I recorded everything that Mr. Simba does around here... ::)

You sound remarkably relaxed about the money....I'm assuming 100 euros isn't THAT much??

BTW I would be remarkably tempted to take the bank a bag of poo, some days.....
