Hi everyone. OK so we brought our lovely flora Home with us Saturday and loving every minute so far.. definitely think we chose the cleverest one but I was just wondering how much she should be eating. I feed her between 6/7am 12 pm and 5/6pm. She is on pedigree puppy pouches with a pedigree mixer kibble. I give her one pouch and half cup of kibble is this too much?

    Hi,

Nice name 'Flora'. At that age we used to feed Vanilla 4 times each day. Was 5:30, 10:00, 14:00 and then 18:00. We fed her roughly what the packet said. Not over but mainly under. It is a bit of a guessing game. Mainly it is more about the look and feel rather than the actual amount as stated on the packet, they are always over.
Packets normally have a rough weight and age chart on the back. We worked it out from there based on what we thought she would weigh as an adult.

Most times it was used for training though, so she did not eat that much out of the bowl.
Other thing to remember, if you give her treats that needs to be taken off her kibble allowance. I think treats should not be more than 10% of their daily allowance.

Have fun with her and make sure you take loads of pictures

Hi and welcome - what a beautiful name. Is that Flora in your avatar? Sorry can't really help as I fed Bailey initially on kibble and then moved to raw. When we fed kibble he had four meals a day and we fed roughly what the packets said - although as said above - it is more about how your dog looks and feels - i.e you should be able to feel her ribs as if covered by a blanket rather than a duvet. The most important thing at the start is to make sure you are feeding an appropriate large dog puppy food that will have the right balance of nutrients to ensure your pup grows up healthily and not too quickly. Good luck and please post some pictures of your little girl :)

Hi and welcome. Your first port of call for answers to feeding schedules and amounts for your puppy should be the breeder of your pup as they have been providing the food for the pup for the last few weeks :). Breeders normally provide all this type of information in their puppy pack together with worming schedules/vaccinations/microchip etc. If for any reason you don't receive the advice from y0ur breeder, have a chat with your vet or vet nurse who can help and advise :)

This is our puppy feeding schedule -

When they are on four meals they are fed at 7:30am 11am 3pm and 7:30pm

Most GDs do remain on two meals a day after 12 months and onwards.
