On my way to work this afternoon I had a realisation that I probably hadn't pushed the butter I'd removed from the fridge to bake a cake to the back of the counter. Sure enough, when I came home it was all gone! I'm sure it was delicious but I'm expecting some nasty clearing up tomorrow

Snowie is jealous! Butter is his all-time favourite treat.

I once left out the peanut butter. Came home to a very happy pup. And the poos that came out looked and smelled just like peanut butter! It wasn't awful. Not sure what will happen with butter...

My first Labrador ate a 250g block of butter as a puppy. There were absolutely no noticeable effects, so you might be lucky!!!

A friend in Germany actually feeds her (very skinny) dog sticks of butter with ham. On a plate. In bed.

On the bright side, no weird poos....so maybe you'll escape unscathed from your own butter adventures? :D

Shadow is obsessed with butter. I have no idea where this came from, but it's like catnip (dognip?) to him. Whenever the pot comes out, he air-licks in its general direction. You could have a whole ham there and he wouldn't do this, but butter? Heaven! To my knowledge, he's never actually tasted it yet, and thinks that Snowie should give him some tips, please.

Shadow, it's very important to be sneakily vigilant for that moment your mummy leaves the butter near the front of the counter by mistake. Pretend to be innocently asleep but keep opening a little eye to check! Then, as soon as her back is turned, get up there, grab and run! It may take weeks but you'll get your reward in the end. Good luck.

Sadly, the butter lives in the fridge, otherwise it would be a melty mess here! It comes out, gets used and goes straight back in again. Bad puppy mum! :D

Simba once ate a whole pound of butter, along with the tin foil-ish package it came in. He then had a big drink of water and then promptly threw up a huge slimy, greasy, watery mess. Fun. o_O No ill effects out the other end, though, funnily enough...
