I used to think that it was just my lovely girl Tess who died last year, but Sam , almost one year old now, is displaying exactly the same thing, its a hatred of change and a real need for things to be in order . For example , I changed the furniture round in our sitting room which included moving Sams massive cushion that is his bed . This was two days ago and today I have had to rearrange things so that his cushion is back where it was as he wouldnt lay on it in its new spot ??? It wasnt just that he wouldnt lay on it, he was genuinly upset because it wasnt where it should be, where it always has been, it was out of order : Terrier Flynn on the other hand, couldnt give a monkeys where his bed was moved to , as long as it was there, but oh dear Sam , a place for everything and everything in its place , what a worrier
Re: Is this a Lab thing ? I think it's probably more an individual personality thing. My Labs could give two hoots if I shift things around or change their routines. The only thing which throws them out a bit is if I bring another pup into the household (or 3 pesky kittens as I've done just recently...lol) but within about a week, they've settled back into their old ways. I'm down to Two now, as one I was just training up for my blind friend for a few weeks. Kittens are a doddle compared to puppies. I do still look as if I've been self harming though, as their razor sharp claws and needle teeth do just as much damage as a Labrador pup.
